Jnaana ("we," "us," "our") operates the Jnaana mobile application (the "app"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use Jnaana, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using Jnaana, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: name, email address or phone number, and password (or sign-in credentials if you use Google or Apple sign-in).
• Gameplay data: activity across Quiz, Riddle Time, Chess Puzzle, and Sudoku — including questions or puzzles attempted, answers, accuracy, solve times, streaks, and time spent in the app.
• Challenge data: when you challenge a friend, both players' results for that match (answers, timing, score, outcome) are visible to each other and may appear in shared challenge history.
• Device and usage information: device type, operating system, app version, crash logs, and general usage analytics.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate core app functionality across Quiz, Riddle Time, Chess Puzzle, and Sudoku, including progress tracking and streaks.
• Enable friend discovery by username and real-time challenge matches between players who have both opted in.
• Generate your personal weekly insights summary (see Section 4 — this involves sharing gameplay data with a third-party AI provider).
• Maintain app security, prevent abuse, and debug crashes or performance issues.
• Communicate with you about updates, app changes, or support requests.

3. Friends and challenges

Jnaana's friend system is username-based — you add friends by username, not through your device's contact list. We do not access, request, or store your device contacts.

When you challenge a friend in real time, both players' gameplay data for that session (questions or puzzles, answers, timing, and result) is visible to each other as part of the match, and may appear in shared challenge history if that feature is enabled.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Service providers who help us run the app (hosting, analytics, crash reporting), under contractual confidentiality obligations.
• Our AI insights provider: to generate your weekly personal insights summary, a compact set of your gameplay statistics (such as accuracy by category, streaks, and challenge results) is sent to Anthropic, whose Claude model generates the summary text. Anthropic processes this data solely to generate your summary and does not use it to train models. If insights generation fails or you have insufficient data in a given week, no summary is shown — this feature never blocks or affects any other part of the app.
• Other players, limited to what you choose to make visible — username and challenge results — never your email, phone number, or account credentials.
• Legal authorities, if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
• Request a copy of your data.
• Object to certain processing of your information.

7. Children's privacy

Jnaana's account holder must be an adult. Riddle Time, however, is specifically designed to be used by an adult together with a child — the adult reads a riddle aloud and the child guesses, under the adult's direct supervision and on the adult's device. Jnaana does not knowingly allow a child to create their own account, use the app independently, or interact with the app without an adult present. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child; any interaction by a child with Riddle Time content happens through and under the supervision of the adult account holder.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information outside the context described above, contact us using the details below and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International data transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including outside India, where data protection laws may differ. Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect.
